WELCOME TO THE RUN229 WEBSITE

RAY BIBBY founder member of  RUN229.  If you want to know just why RUN229  were so good live, look no further  than the rythym section . Ray on Drums and Nick on bass were the best musicians in the Band and were as tight as a ducks arse. Rumoured to have been raised in the woods by Goblins and once described as a 'dangerous overgrown todler'; Ray enjoyed hitting things from an early age and got into playing the drums after seeing his hero Keith Moon (The Who) on TV.

NICK CARR  BASS;  The youngest member of the band at 17, his bass playing was an inspiration and was the heart and soul of  RUN229. Usually stoned and surrounded by teenage girls; Skinned up in the toilets of Granada TV and appeared on the 'What's on' show shit faced and barly able to stand. where are you now? Nick disappeared in London and has not been heard of since 1982

Steve Jones Lead guitarist. Often could be seen dressed as a fireman on stage. without Steve the band would never have worked out how to plug in the PA. Steve was the rock influence in the band but was vary rarely let loose with a guitar solo and content himself with riffing his way through most of the songs; it was rumoured that infact Steve only knew one chord!

Mark Allen was the original (and best singer) with the band. He was a complete eccentric and could often to be seen sporting a trilby and hand knitted tie. Mark's operatic vocals gave the band their unique sound. Left on a whim one night in Chorley.

John Tallon Jones Guitar, violin and vocals. wrote most of the basic melodies and lyrics to the songs before the band changed everything in rehearsals. Dubbed the Joe Stalin of the band; his fights over just about everything with Ray Bibby were legendary. The most ludicrous being in the Granada TV studio just before the band were due to play about the size of his shirt collar. In the end John was forced to play wearing Ray's shirt.
